Life’s milestones for late bloomers

college application fee
College enrollment is a big milestone. A once in a lifetime moment for many families. Some change we see coming and it’s inevitable, like empty-nest syndrome. Other change we never see coming.

How late is too late?

Too late for what?

Change.

Are you satisfied?

Change comes in expected and unexpected ways.

Are you satisfied with your ability to handle expected and unexpected change?

A backstage look at the Disney figurine photo shoot

A backstage look at a Disney figurine photo shoot.

Backstage is the part our Guests never see.

Think of backstage this way…

If people knew how hard i worked to gain my mastery, they wouldn’t think it was so wonderful after all.  – Michelangelo

Why does it take years to write and publish a book?

Do it and the answer will be clear.

Now, apply that to doing seven books.

Writing about writing, and writing about writing in Glacier is very motivating to me.

That’s why i’m doing it.

The odds of anyone caring but me are super low.

Remember what i always say, “Find a million ways to stay motivated.”

We are at the Magic Kingdom Theme Park entrance turnstiles

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
What does the sign say? It’s really important in Disney history (and vision).

Yesterday i wrote about the Guest arrival experience in the 1970s.

We pick up today where we left off – on the Park side of the turnstiles – officially inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom Theme Park.

There are two tunnel-like entrances to choose from.

One on the far right and one on the far left.

And in between is the giant flora Mickey Mouse face, made from flowers.

This is an emotional greeting and a fantastic gateway to the other side.

You see, there’s an earthen berm around Magic Kingdom – a curtain if you will, to build the anticipation for a show that’s going to start as soon as you pass through it.

We started Walt Disney World with what we knew we could do

Disney Keynote Speaker
There’s Zurg (far right). Where’d he come from?

We started Walt Disney World with a foundation we knew we could replicate.

Build a Disneyland style replica, with a few modifications to make it unique enough to have it’s own identity.

Happy 63rd birthday Disneyland

Disney Management Speaker
Hi-ya Pal.

Happy 63rd birthday Disneyland.

Less than one-minute video (from Disneyland’s 60th celebration).

PS. As this goes live on September 17, we’ll be just 13 days away from Walt Disney World’s 47th birthday.
