Two worlds

Two worlds?

The world as this is written (March 31) and the world as it publishes (May 31).

March 31 (today, being written): Today’s five daily, differently-themed blog posts conclude an unheralded 11 consecutive years of five daily posts, without missing a single day.

May 31 (as you read this on its published day): We should be spending our second day in Glacier National Park.

Like a time-capsule, Covid-19 will determine the latter.

Old school blogging from 2008

Old school blogging from 2008.

What?

Back in 2008 when i first began blogging, there was no thought of using photos. It would be years before photos were used.

Why?

There didn’t seem to be a compelling reason in the early years.

Weird.

How weird?

See how there’s no photo today?

That weird.

9 years, 11 months, and 30 days so far

It’s been nine years, 11 months, and 30 days so far.

What?

Tomorrow, March 31, 2019, i finish a decade-long prolific blogging effort. On April Fools Day 2009, i started what was destined to fail: a 100-day, self-imposed writer’s boot camp to write five daily, differently-themed blog posts on five individual websites.

Not only did it not fail, but it hasn’t stopped for a single day, for a decade.

How is this even possible?

It all ends in 12 days

Orlando motivational Speaker — Imagine this being true for you.

It all ends in 12 days.

This is sick.

A decade.

Never missing a single day.

Not one.

It all ends in 12 days.

And then year 11 begins.

Sick.

The early days of Mid Life Celebration

Mid Life Celebration art 2008…the pen is added to reveal the use of 8.5 x 11 printer paper for the canvas.

The early days of Mid Life Celebration…yesterday, i stumbled upon these crayon sketches and handmade business card ideas from December 2008 and January 2009.

Today, March 10, 2019, on this “Spring Forward” clock change morning, it’s helpful for this moment of pause to see what the dream seed looked like a decade ago.

PS. i coined the phrase Mid Life Celebration somewhere around 2001, less than a year after becoming a dad. Officially incorporated the LLC January 1, 2009.
