i refuse to live like this anymore

Amelia Erhart quote
Facebook screen shot yesterday.

Here we go, it’s another Monday morning and most of us barely, if at all, have ourselves centered before we rush out the door to begin another long day of rush, rush, rush.

What becomes the catalytic moment in our lives when our attitude tells us (to promise) to stop the rat race?

What is that moment that causes us to commit to changing everything?

And how long does this, “I refuse to live like this anymore” commitment last?

If it were as easy as Amelia Earhart says, we wouldn’t be thinking about this now.

The changes are imperceptible, except for a few

April 2015 calendar
Today is just a single day.

A tree does not grow overnight, but it does grow.

Same with us.

It happens so slowly :

  • Learning to walk
  • Losing our virginity
  • Moving into our own place
  • The death of a parent

The days cannot teach nor prepare us like decades can.

As we age we can cast more shade, because our roots are wide and deep.

Makes sense when we think about it, but we never do.

Rearrange our word choice and magic happens

Twitter video
Twitter screen shot on iPhone. One word is missing.

This photo was taken yesterday. It’s a Twitter advertisement for their new video app. Love the tag line:

Life, camera, action.

Rearrange our word choice and magic happens. A small tweak – add one word, change the order – changes everything.

Life, purpose, action, camera.

Got it?

Will this change change things?

Midlife Celebration Keynote Speaker

Getting Mid Life Celebration in the hands of as many people as possible is worth forgoing any profit. Profit is not the goal.

Will lowering the paperback and Kindle price change things? Three weeks ago began the process of lowering the price. It may take another three weeks before we see it on Amazon.

Lowering the list price from $19.99 to 10.99 has been approved. Amazon then uses an algorithm to create a standard discount.

Still waiting on the Kindle price reduction from $9.99 to somewhere between $1.99 and $3.99. Amazon also discounts Kindle prices.

Nothing venture, nothing gained.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Twitter profile snapshot
This morning’s Twitter stats, January 18, 2015.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Willing to try new things?

Willing to do it all the time?

Willing to occasionally push the boundaries?

What if you were?

Have lost 900 Twitter followers in three days because of a radical experiment.

Am expecting to lose thousands more. Willing to take the risk. Otherwise the regret in never knowing would be haunting.
