What drives the speed of life?

Disney Customer Service Speaker
These giant wall art pieces used to hang in every Guest room (1052 total) at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This one hangs in our garage. Bought it for $5.00,  30 years ago. Wow, time flies.

Our days fly by.

The seed of this speed is how we think about our mornings.

The fruit of this speed is how we spend our mornings.

Our seed’s DNA carries high intentionality or low intentionality.

And how we spend our mornings is driven by how we spend our nights.

For example, going to bed at 9:00 PM, getting eight hours sleep and excited to wake up to the reward of two hours of self-reflection, prayer, meditation, reading, writing, preparing breakfast, etc.

Dream like you mean it

This dirty shirt may be the start of personal transformation.

Take your dreams seriously.

Seems so obvious.

But alas, we rush through our day, hoping to get back to our dream tomorrow.

We all know what happens with this habitual cycle.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

A consistently busy schedule is all it takes

Motivational wellness keynote speakers
This blog is about our mind, our attitude.

A consistently busy schedule is all it takes for our temporary postponement to become a permanent postponement.

Our true priorities never get set in the proper order.

Having the right priorities, but in the wrong order is a ticking time bomb for regret. (Tweet that)

Health, Family time, dreams…

These take a back seat while we work on the urgent stuff.

The past two weeks have been more challenging than normal and i am struggling (more than the normal daily struggle) to get back in control of my in-box.

Pausing in a busy world

Florida Hospital Winter Garden construction
On the way to teach yesterday, i paused for just a moment as i drove by, to take this photo.

Pausing in a busy world. Who’s got time?

Slowing down.

Maybe even coming to a complete halt.

To chew our food.

To watch the clouds, almost motionless, actually drift slowly across the sky right before our very eyes.

Or maybe we pause to do something radical, like contemplate the impact of our work. And in so doing, we humbly astonish ourselves at the significant impact we are making.

The secret of life is to take your time, but hurry up.

Don’t rush through life, but don’t live like you have forever.

Don’t let your blind ambition erase your intuition.

Intuition tells us life is riddled with regret, mostly because we never see it coming.

Wondering how many 80 and 90 year olds would have changed course in their 40’s, 50’s, or 60’s had they known then what they know now.
