Mentoring ambitious Cast Members is part of Disney’s Leadership culture.

Mentoring ambitious Cast Members is part of Disney’s Leadership culture. But it depends on the leader, all of whom have more responsibility and accountability than they have time to accomplish. At least it feels like it.

We met yesterday for the second time. It started from a LinkedIn connection and grew to an informal “meet and greet” – a common Disney leadership best practice.

Even though retired, my desire to help other Cast Members is vibrant.

Because it’s a glorious obligation opportunity to pay back those who mentored me.

In the spontaneous photo above, tangible proof of what passion looks like: an ambitious future leader feverishly taking notes.

  1. Hi Jeff,

I admire that you take the time to do this for new leaders. I’ve seen videos with Dan Cockerell and know that Lee does it, too. As the father of two daughters that both want to take advantage of the Disney College Program once they are in college, it’s great to know that such tremendous resources could be available to them, if they are proactive.

    Happy Sunday!

  2. Brian, thanks for your comment. It’s simply part of the Disney culture. Even though i’ve been retired since Halloween, i don’t feel like i’ve left. 🙂
Hope you and your Family have an awesome Sunday.

  3. Jeff,
I loved reading these posts! Thank you for sharing them with me.

I completed the Disney College Program last winter and then moved on to a Disney Professional Internship because of the experience I gained from it. I would be happy to be a resource to your daughters if they decide to do College Program when they are old enough and would like someone to talk to! I worked at the Learning Center we had on site, so I learned about all of the living, learning, and earning opportunities we had that your daughters might enjoy.

  4. Laura, OMGosh…your reply is so typical of you. Here you are with such a generous offer. This is how a great culture is maintained and perpetuated.

Thank you Laura for being you. You are an inspirational catalyst. 🙂

How amazing are the ripple effects of kindness and generosity? Wow.
