Happy Mother’s Day 2019

Chapin Noel
Our Son has you as a rock.

Happy Mother’s Day 2019.

What a gift to be a parent, especially a Mom.

You are an incredible Mom.

The 10-year plan has less than 30 days.

Disney Podcast
Yesterday the latest episode (Season 2, Episode 4) didn’t arrive like it automatically should. Now 18 weeks into the weekly publishing, this is concerning. It will get resolved.

The original 10-year plan has less than 30 days.

The plan was and still is: What would you do if you had only 10 years left to live?

A new, continuing plan is (and has been) in the works.

It’s revolving around a one, two, or three year addendum.

Son, four college years will fly by (in hindsight). In the present, the weeks may drag, but trust me, a decent sense of urgency will alleviate regret for missed or neglected opportunities when you evaluate your college years after graduation.

Brand like you mean it

Disney Keynote Speaker
Cleaning files (found this pic), thinking about marketing, and the release of the TEDx Talk.

Sometimes the small business marketing opportunities that are the most compelling to clients who’ve never heard of you are put aside by me because personal marketing and humility seem like opposites.

Every day, do something that scares you.

So like putting yourself out there?

Possibly.

Probably.

Son, remember this during your freshman year. From the very beginning, dream about how you can offer something(s) to the world that it would gladly pay you for.

When you graduate, you’ll be ahead of others who are under-focused on this or ignore this for four important years.

You reap what you sow

Disney Keynote Speaker
A potential Indonesian client is using a consulting company to find a Disney Theme Park speaker. On a video Zoom call, the consultants saw all the Disney “trophies” on the bookcase behind me and suggested i include some photos in the proposal. Included this photo and few others i took yesterday to add in the proposal i sent last night.

You reap what you sow.

You don’t win a Disney Lifetime Achievement Award, the award is bestowed on you. You receive it because the rigorous and anonymous Disney selection criteria and process focuses on behaviors. This is such a big deal that being nominated is considered a high honor.

Once nominated, names are removed and only the Cast Member’s behaviors are shared with the selection committees.

In the photo above, Partners In Excellence was Disney’s original Lifetime Achievement Award. It was retired after 15 years and replaced with the Walt Disney Legacy Award in 2012.

Be open minded (always)

Wild Goose Island
Wild Goose Island inspires many people to self-reflect.

Be open minded.

Always?

There are exceptions to literally every rule.

Your gut will tell you when to not be open minded.

Today’s posts will try to capture the essence of a weirdly freaky experience the began Wednesday May 1, 2019 and culminated yesterday, Tuesday May 7.

A meaningful benefit of daily writing for a decade is the opportunity the writer is given to “think on paper”.

WordPress, thank you for providing the perfect writer’s tools for long-term daily writing and publishing. Of course, self-reflection is the catalyst for 3,700+ consecutive days.

Son, thank you for being a wise counsel.
