Midlife Name Calling

Not What You'd Expect
Not What You'd Expect

Bam!

Out of no where.

Talk about being hit with a blind spot!

Last week, the new guy said, “You’re the most boundary-less thinker I’ve ever met”.

Think about it, you might have some really exciting, positive blind spots.

Listen carefully when you engage with others. When they call you names, it will probably fly right over your head, or, it just might make your day.

Maybe it’s the tag line at the Next Blog that helped form the blind spot.

So I Hit Delete

Genuine Replica
Genuine Replica

How was getting out of bed for you this Monday morning? Is it possible to be at a place in life where you can’t wait for your alarm to go off each morning?

Know what’s crazy? We can organize many things in life so that this is possible. Sure it’s work, but so is feeling lousy.

Besides being the new currency, really, what is authenticity?

Can you define it? Do you have it? Abundantly? Do you care?

It hit me last week in a very nice email invitation to “change my life, in 3 easy steps”. Reading the message, it sounded freakishly like something I might write.

And then the epiphany – I have no clue who this guy is.

There has been no trail of authenticity with him.

No trust.

So I hit delete.

The Real Dialogue Is Over

The Road To Excellence Has No Finish Line
The Road To Excellence Has No Finish Line

Not over as in finished. Over as in over at jungle jeff.net

Have been talking about being authentic, ever since day one at jungle jeff.net

jungle jeff is about your contribution to society. And from your contribution, generally speaking, society pays you proportionately.

Being authentic is a habit.

Being a great leader is a habit.

Everything is a habit.

Habits are either good or bad.

Never get bored with the basics.

Why Yes, Something Did Drop

We Live 3 Miles Away
We Live 3 Miles Away

Blogging is so much fun! But for some it feels like work. And for others, the day doesn’t arrive soon enough to get started.

Did you catch what I dropped yesterday?

It’s fun to help people think for themselves and to be a source of authenticity in a world diametrically opposed to it.

It’s also fun to see if people are paying attention.

Mid Life Greetings from Finland

Mid Life Crisis and Mid Life Celebration greetings from Finland.

I’m here, representing the USA at the Master’s Track & Field World Championships.

I competed yesterday against the world’s best 400 meter runners in the 50-54 age group, finishing sixth in the first of seven heats.

My time was embarrassing by my standards, for a variety of reasons, yet my effort to make it this far is completely Gold medal worthy.

It reminded me, as you probably already know, doing our best is really what we all desire.

I vow to do my very best today.  A day is a terrible thing to waste.

Carpe diem, jeff noel midlife 🙂
