Three weeks away from 14,000

Consecutive days.

Total posts.

Something i cannot explain because it was never a goal, never a desire, never even the smallest thought.

For the past 2,779 days, five daily, differently-themed blog posts (on 5 separate sites) have been written.

Not one day off.

Ever.

In 21 more days, this will equate to 14,000 blog posts.

Feeling incapable in describing it, and inadequate in explaining it.

Note: Since today’s post was written 90 days ago, 450 additional blog posts are added, pushing the total well past 14k.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

There is something about never missing a day

Medical test envelope
Spent two hours yesterday working through some details for medical tests for a High Schooler. Incurable diseases require daily excellence to manage well.

There is something indescribable about never missing a single day in exactly seven years and seven months. From April Fool’s Day 2009 to today, November 1, 2016.

Prior to the original goal of writing five daily, differently-themed posts for 100 consecutive days – to get in writing shape to write my first book – i had not written more than two consecutive days. I had also never written five posts in a single day.

Never let your memories be bigger than your dreams.

Seven Disney business books in one year, all written at Walt Disney World, and all written on an iPhone.

Dream big. And never let your memories be bigger than your dreams.

And smile because you have a great answer when someone asks you, “What’s your impossible?”

Mystery blog, where art thou

Wrote five daily blogs yesterday, including this one. However, now, a day later, the post is gone. Not even the automated “save” feature on WordPress kept a copy.

Hard to believe, but i don’t recall what i wrote.

So, i’m moving on with my morning to write the five new posts that will be available tomorrow, August 13.

40 days and 40 nights equals seven years

Does 40 days and 40 nights equal seven years?

It does.

In exactly 40 days, we arrival at April Fools Day.

And on that day seven years ago, i began what literally seemed impossible.

For 100 consecutive days, write five daily, differently-themed blog posts about life’s five big choices: mind, body, spirit, money, and hq.

We:

  1. Think:   MidLifeCelebration.com/blog
  2. Move:    Lane8.org/blog
  3. Feel:       jeffnoel.org/blog
  4. Work:    junglejeff.net/blog
  5. Dwell:    jeffnoel.com/blog

No one i know writes five daily, differently-themed blogs. Does this make me a great leader?

No.

Does it mean i initiated a serious change?

Yes.

Does writing five a day for seven years make me a leader?

No.

Does it mean i initiated serious change?

Yes.

Insight: Be careful in judging your efforts and your initiative based on someone else’s standards. Follow the trail or make a trail.

About every three years i’m tempted to skip a day of blogging

Looking out Jet window at dusk
The good news? It was a 10-mile drive to work from home. Beats an all day air-travel day.

About every three years i’m tempted to skip a day of blogging. Today was one of those days. While it’s only 8:30pm (yes, pm), i’m running on fumes.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good tired.

Yet, i’d love to close my eyes, right now, until morning.
