i have to laugh

Disney Institute speakers
Found this on a Google Search for Disney Institute. The first 6 years of daily writing, i worked and traveled full-time for Disney Institute. How was that possible?

i have to laugh.

@

myself.

Who wakes up at 5:00AM (sometimes earlier, if traveling) every morning and spends the next two hours writing?

And who does this morning ritual for over 3,000 consecutive days?

i’ll tell you who.

A freak.

And who says a mid-life crisis should be celebrated?

Same freak.

(me, right now, giggling)

November 30th meet December 30

First principles thinking
First principle, without any help from Elon Musk – Think For Yourself.

November 30th meet December 30?

i love writing in such a way that there is no pressure on me to write to please others.

i used to worry about writing ahead – not posting live, but posting in the future. Kinda the way many television shows are recorded and then aired later.

Stumbled upon it on a 14-hour flight for a Disney Institute engagement because i was worried i wouldn’t have time the next morning to write.

Had just learned how to schedule a post to publish on a future date. In preparation for this trip, i wrote a post while still in Orlando for the morning i was worried about.

As luck would have it, my fear never happened and i wrote that morning, 14-hours from Orlando.

This meant i now had a surplus of five posts (one day’s worth).

Bottomline: i’m currently writing 30 days out  – in this case,  30 days before New Year’s Eve.

So i’m thinking about the ineffectiveness of resolutions.

i’m also thinking about how December 30, 2001 was the last day i drank alcohol.

Turns out, for determined people, you figure out how to conquer your fears and follow your dreams – no matter what day you decide to commit.

i want you to write for 3,000 consecutive days

Disney University
Every. Single. Day.

Today, June 17, 2017 marks the 3,000th consecutive day.

On April Fools Day 2009, the 100-day challenge to write five daily, differently-themed blog posts for 100 consecutive days was an “impossible” goal.

Today is also Day 282 of a 365-day epic writing commitment:

Write seven Disney Business books in a single year.

It’s been challenging to do both.

As the finish line (Sept 9) looms for the Disney business books, i’m ever closer to pausing the daily blogging.

One month ago i felt fairly certain that today would be the final Summer blogging day.

So torn.

Blogging occupies two hours of every day.

The Disney book writing would require at least two hours every day.

Fingers crossed i do what i need to do tomorrow.

150 days ago today

African proverb
Perhaps the digital library has a chance of survival after i die. Photo: screen shot from Pinterest.

What’s your attitude regarding impossible?

What’s your attitude regarding doing seemingly insignificant work year after year?

Just realized 150 days ago the 14,000th Mid Life Celebration, LLC post went live.

Such a small, meaningless event in world history.

Such a brilliant testament to slow and steady, the journey of a thousand miles begins wth a single step, and a year from now you’ll wish you had begun today.

Rock on with your slow and steady self.
