Plenty of time to write – still finishing up the Disney Leadership book.

One Person’s Dream is all you have.

Never let your memories be bigger than your dreams.

Two weeks and two days away from 2017.

What’s going to drive you to your best year ever?

Notice and invent simply by writing every morning

Disney’s Tree of Life

Disney's Tree of Life
Two days ago…neither of us recalled the Owl being so big.

Caution, borderline self-indulgent post. But i needed to hear myself say this today.

Knowing that i am compelled to say something tomorrow about what i learned yesterday, what i get to do today, and what i hope for tomorrow, i notice things in glorious, simple ways i would never tap into if i didn’t write every day.

And what i learned, get to do, and hope for might help someone else on their journey to live like they mean it.

Every.

Day.

Five differently-themed blogs.

On five different websites.

Since April Fools Day, 2009.

Yeah, seven and a half years, five-a-day, never missing a day.

Ever.

Impossible.

(note: 65 days from 8 consecutive years…insane)

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Through writing and teaching i want to spread light

Disney Keynote speaker
Photo from two days ago, but i can’t recall where.

Through writing and teaching, i want to spread light.

i believe in this idea.

Note: Every post i write is designed to capture what i learned yesterday, what i get to do today, and what i hope for tomorrow. And from that, i hope to reflect long enough to learn something relevant to continuously improve my habits.

With that in mind, what do you want to spread into our world? What tools or resources allow you to do that? How much do you believe in this idea?

Your time is limited

Steve Jobs book
Sent this photo to an executive yesterday, after he sent me a “top 10” Steve Jobs’ article.

Your time is limited.

Accept this.

Focus on it.

Let it set you on fire, since we can most likely assume life has been holding you back from being on fire.

Live like you mean it. Live like your days are numbered.

Because they are.

If you really want to live without regret, the best time to start was 10 years ago. Since that didn’t happen, the second best time was a year ago. Since that didn’t happen, yesterday would have been better than today, but today is all you have.

It’s. All. You. Have. Right. Now.

Stop letting “now” slip away every day.

Better to be an inspired mistake?

Walt Disney World welcome entrance
No place like home. At a red light reflecting on how often i drive past here each week.

Better to be an inspired mistake or better to be perfect?

Taking risks is risky. So is playing it safe.

On a drive home from Orlando Airport, i stopped at a red light at one of our hometown’s biggest intersections.

In a random moment, a relatively deep thought, triggered by the Walt Disney World sign and Hurricane Matthew, revealed an insight.

Insight: Underneath the surface in a post like this is the hidden intentionality that allows a person to follow their dreams – by subconsciously reminding them to plant those ideas in fertile soil.

The reason i frequently drive by this sign is that in 1984, my wife and i packed up everything we owned and relocated from Washington State to take a calculated risk that we could carve out a life at Walt Disney World.

Excuses were abundant then. They remain plentiful now.

Excuses were not allowed then. They are also not allowed now.

Ever.
