Bob Dylan quote from college

Glacier summit
First trip to Glacier is closing in.

During the 1979-80 Junior year of college i had a dorm room wall poster with this quote from Bob Dylan:

He who is not busy being born, is busy dying.

Growth is stimulating.

Growth is more than physical, it also applies to attitude.

Like a muscle, strain – from experiences – strengthens our mental outlook.

Learn to be intentional where you used to be less intentional or unconcerned.

Enjoy the soreness when you push yourself past your perceived limits. Soreness means the work was more than you are used to enduring.

Positivity for Sale

Florida swimming pool
Couple nights ago. This is sunset, but if you didn’t know, it could be a sunrise.

Today’s theme is about stuff that’s for sale, stuff that people might buy.

Saw a “Disney Institute” Google alert yesterday entitled “Magic For Sale”…how Disney was selling it’s people management best practices to outsiders back in the mid-2000’s.

Take a person with a super positive attitude. If they could bottle their “secrets”, would you buy them?

My advice?

Grow your own.

We reap what we sow.

Sow good thoughts.

Leverage the power of words and phrases.

Opportunities and challenges, not problems.

“Good morning, God.”

Not, “Good God it’s morning”.

Wouldn’t it be great?

Septic tank sensor alarm
Yesterday our septic tank stopped working. This is a big deal if you don’t fix it soon.

Wouldn’t it be great if our mental attitude had an automatic sensor and alerted (alarmed) us the second our thoughts weren’t positive?

Until there’s an automatic sensor, you’ll have to develop your own “6th-sense”.

If your sensor doesn’t alert (alarm) you, odds increase that negativity contaminates your head space. The same way a backed up septic tank can contaminate your living space if it goes unchecked for too long.

Want a personal advantage?

Excuses
Can’t and won’t are not related. Not even close.

Want a personal advantage?

When given the choice (and you always have control of how you choose) always choose to see things as opportunitiees or challenges.

The minute you label something a problem, it becomes one in your mind.

The product of all our choices when refined

Florida Cypress tree in early Spring
The Cypress tree is starting to “bloom” with new growth. In the Fall all its needles fall, leaving it barren.

Do you have an attitude of gratitude?

Attitude is influenced by every choice we make.

Every choice we make is influenced by our attitude.

Gratitude is the final byproduct of all our choices refined.
