Woke up feeling sick

daises
Miles of walking the past nine days. Only daises we saw were on yesterday’s walk to Muhlenberg College.

Woke up feeling sick.

Not a good day to feel awful.

There’s Mom’s Viewing tonight at Weber Funeral Home.

Then’s there’s the special viewing tomorrow at Mass, then the cemetery burial.

Tonight’s low forecasted for 20 degrees.

And in this present moment, there are five blogs to write.

If the solution doesn’t work fast what do we do?

Orlando Disney Keynote Speakers

If it doesn’t work fast, we’re on to the next thing.

Like a broken record.

Will the invisible (to ourselves, but clear to everyone else) habit of not seeing things through ever change?

Replace the record or stop playing the record. Period.

Why wouldn’t we?

But we love that album.

On second thought, get the digital version. iTunes or equivalent.

Or, and this is a massive or, we could just find a million reasons to stay the course with common sense.

The basics.

Never get bored with the basics.

Inventory the things that influence your attitude.

This is a wake up call if we are honest.

It’s like a broken record for successful people in midlife

Magic Bands packaging
Walt Disney faced bankruptcy as a young businessman

The recurring and popular theme is the same for most successful people reaching midlife.

  • They worked hard for a long time
  • Were tempted to quit more times than they could count
  • Managed meager earnings, at best, in the beginning.

Seth Godin’s post yesterday reminded me what we all forget – Seth wasn’t always successful.

This is the path.

The good news?

The longer we follow it, the more difficult it becomes to turn back.

First day back and five thoughts to keep us going

Random page from a quote book (Hana, Hawaii)

First day back and five thoughts to keep us going:

  • it’s always too soon to quit
  • exhaustion and loneliness are merely stepping stones
  • remember who you are
  • remember the bigger picture
  • the closer you are to quitting, the closer you are to winning

Twelve days on the road. Yesterday was recuperation. Today is Mother’s Day.
