Disrupting the notion that balance is a myth

For nearly five straight years, I’ve written five daily, differently-themed posts about balance at five separate websites:

mind • body • spirit • money • hq

Every post has a hyperlink to the next blog site. Scroll down to read more.

Excuses, regrets, opportunity, and permission.

Mid Life Celebration ISNB #
Five powerful chapters covering excuses, regret, opportunity and permission

The only way I know to stay motivated all the time is to stay motivated all the time.

Talking is easy. Doing is difficult – maybe impossible we tell ourselves.

There is a new book on Amazon that calmly and quietly suggests we never again tell ourselves these lies.

Do what you say you are going to do. Otherwise we are left with excuses and regret.

There is a second opportunity that most, if not all, of us wait our entire lives for – permission.

The second opportunity is Mid Life Celebration.

World’s first for profit non-profit?

Inside book cover
Is five years enough time (or too much time) to lay a serious foundation?

What is this notion of a for profit non-profit?

Preparing to establish Mid Life Celebration, LLC in 2008, retaining an accountant was a top recommendation from other established small business entrepreneurial friends.

My vision was to create something that would raise a lot money and then give it to the folks dedicated to finding a cure for Crohn’s disease.

Calling the accountant, an unusual discovery – he didn’t do non-profits.

Immediately (must be deep Disney creativity) the notion of a for profit non-profit entered my consciousness.

The 10-year plan included five years to create the platform, become a brand, and most importantly, make money.

Four point nine years have passed.

Can I do it within five?

Insight: Dreams come true when we are flexible, creative, and determined to only accept success.

Thanks to double inguinal hernia repair surgery, a midlife revelation.

An important new direction and in many ways, the beginning

Mid Life Celebration began 30-something years ago simply as a dream of writing a book to my children about life’s important elements – to help save them time and heartache so they could move on to success, faster, and with more joy.

But then life happened.

Marriage.

Career.

Mortgage.

Disability.

The first or second worst economic crisis in the past 100 years.

We finally get to the place from which we long ago began, and now finally recognize it for the first time.

Without four days bed rest, and stillness, I would not be writing this this way.

And feel like I’m ready to begin, but this time with an ally I didn’t have: 4.5 years of entrepreneurial experience.
