What’s Disney’s secret sauce?

People hire me for one reason, and one reason only.

To reveal Disney’s secret sauce.

What’s Disney’s secret sauce?

It’s simple.

It’s equivalent to Apple’s IOS – an Operating System that allows excellence (aka greatness) to scale, reproduce, and grow.

Think about these statements…

Our attitude affects us.

Our experience affects us.

Our beliefs affect us.

Our codependence affects us.

Our reflection (or lack thereof) affects us.

You may be able to make me smile, laugh or feel good.

But…

No one can make me happy but me.

Will Smith just revealed an operating system who’s DNA centers on a simple concept.

You are the CEO of YOU, Inc.

Go ahead and frolic, with this caveat

Disney Keynote Speaker
Frolic, as long as you have done the admirable work to deserve it.

To behave admirably is hard work.

Plus there’s the, you know, the…critics.

If you live your life worried about what others will think, you will regret it.

Here’s the important caveat in the notion of not worrying what others think – you must behave admirably in the process.

Another way to say the same thing

complex Interstate road system
Which way do we go?

Marathon finish line
Near the end of my walk “home” last night.

Another way to say the same thing (three truths and a lie) from yesterday’s posts is this:

Come up with three outrageous accomplishments or experiences that sound unbelievable –  from your life – with one of them being untrue.

  1. i’ve published 17,000+ blog posts.
  2. Yesterday i walked eight miles round trip to work.
  3. i drive an antique car as my primary mode of transportation.

The two truths and a lie are revealed at the next blog.

Two mental truths and a lie

human statue at Orlando airport
If this bronze statue wasn’t encased in glass, you’d swear the guy was human. Photo: Orlando International Airport, April 16, 2018 (yesterday).

Need an icebreaker for a group?

Two mental truths and a lie.

Ask your audience to think of two of their biggest mental or attitude accomplishments, milestones, or freakish encounters.

Maybe they used mental stamina to handle the pressure to win a National Spelling Bee championship at age 11.

Perhaps they migrated to America at 23, not knowing a word of English and are now running their own business.

Then ask them to create an outrageous “lie” that competes with their two lifetime achievements.

The goal is to stump the others at their table, or their partner if they’re in pairs.

Dear Son, live life with these 6 priorities

Highline Trail
September 29, 2017 the trail was deserted. It was amazingly different than every other time i’ve been on Highline Trail in Glacier National Park. PS. There where two hikers ahead of me, always within sight, but not too close to be crowded.

Dear Son, live your life with these six key priorities.

Honesty

Behave admirably

Personal Responsibility

Self-control

Initiative

Fun
