Time flies dangerously fast

Highpoint President
High Point University.

College president quote
Inspiring, right? That’s a President’s job. Every leader’s job, really.

Some people can’t wait for 5pm, some can’t wait for Friday, others can’t wait for the holidays at the end of the year, and some people can’t wait for their lives to settle down so they can finally pursue happiness.

But you don’t have to be one of them.

Please don’t wait until your life is almost over to realize how good it has been.

i’d really like to see GNP dusted with snow before i die

Going to the Sun Road
Yesterday on Facebook.

How do we overcome the noise (real and imaginary) from others when our way of thinking and doing goes against conventional and traditional thinking and doing?

Since returning from Glacier with Howard two weeks ago, i’ve been crafting a return trip before October 1, when Logan Pass Visitor Center closes for 2017.

Two other factors creating a sense of urgency include Going to the Sun Road closing Eastbound from Apgar on October 9 for construction. Plus a heavier than normal travel schedule through October leaves few options.

Using Capitalone points, i’ll travel September 27-30.

Booked hotel and rental car days after returning, knowing they can be canceled without a fee.

It feels good to commit.

i had waffled almost constantly because airfare kept going up.

It also felt a little selfish.

The tipping point came when i honored the commitment to live like i have until my 60th birthday.

i’d really like to see GNP dusted with snow before i die.

What if you only had 10 years left to live?

Living like you were dying
From a High School classmate’s Facebook feed yesterday.

What if you only had 10 years left to live?

An article came my way via Facebook less than 24 hours ago.

The biggest regret most humans list?

Waiting for the moments to come that will change things.

And realizing they never come.

Yet…

Yet i submit they are always coming.

Every decision we make takes us closer to or farther from moments that change us.

Did yesterday change you in some way?

It should have, possibly more than once.

Many of us go decades and never feel this.

Your time is limited

Steve Jobs book
Sent this photo to an executive yesterday, after he sent me a “top 10” Steve Jobs’ article.

Your time is limited.

Accept this.

Focus on it.

Let it set you on fire, since we can most likely assume life has been holding you back from being on fire.

Live like you mean it. Live like your days are numbered.

Because they are.

If you really want to live without regret, the best time to start was 10 years ago. Since that didn’t happen, the second best time was a year ago. Since that didn’t happen, yesterday would have been better than today, but today is all you have.

It’s. All. You. Have. Right. Now.

Stop letting “now” slip away every day.

Hey jeff, don’t forget your clock is tickin’

Going to the sun road
Going-To-The-Sun Road

Going to the sun road
Perhaps it is.

Going to the sun road
Wow.

Mindlessly going from one day to the next, thinking that sometime in the future we’ll become serious about getting our priorities straight, once and for all.

How’s that working out so far?

Live like you mean it means something to you or it doesn’t.

Which is it?

Truth is, we all flow in and out of sunny (smooth) days and cloudy (turbulent) days.

Life’s “weather” should never dictate our joy, gratitude, resolve, or attitude.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
