Advent Health Port Orange appointment was for 8:00am. They called the day before yesterday and asked if i could change to 1130am. Knowing how cold it was gonna be, and with a long drive, jumped at the chance to be a hero for them.

Today’s posts will be a mixture of pictures, video, text, and no text.

Picture this, mind

quote about self-awareness
If nothing changes, nothing changes.

Moving is a physical action.

Yes.

But so is thinking.

It’s a mental action.

If you don’t exercise your thoughts, you never notice your chains.

All improvement is incremental

All improvement is incremental…

Improvement stems from the magic of compound interest.

Countless small iterations.

In hindsight, it turns out that each iteration required all the preceding iteration attempts— all the failures and the successes.

The more you try, the more you fail.

The more you fail, the closer you get to improvement. Until one day, a small, never-been-tried tweak or a sudden, random idea creates a eureka moment.

What feels like a breakthrough in reality is a culmination of small, almost invisible positive steps toward the eureka moment.

This is great news.

2 Communication timing basics

Timing influences communication.

Talk about potential mistakes before they happen and people start looking for ways to prevent them.

Talk about actual mistakes after they happen and people start looking for reasons to defend their actions.

What do you and i need to be talking about now/next week, so we can learn the lessons before we need them?

Take everything we own

August, 1984. Clothes. Personal effects. Kitchen stuff. No furniture. No appliances. We were leaving a Washington State University Residence Hall. Residence Hall Director, Cheryl, pictured here. It was a fully furnished and stocked apartment.

Take everything we own, to Orlando, Florida.

That’s what we paid for. Because that’s what we needed.

We didn’t have much, yet our growth-mindset whispered, “You have it all.”
