Yesterday, Monday, officially began the letting go of my 30+ years as a DIY landscape maintenance guy.
Guard your time.
The tricky thing about time is we think it’s like a money-tree in our backyard – just go outside and pick some whenever you need it.
No such thing exists.
Yet we still think we have all the time in the world to get to the “important stuff”, like shaping our attitude into this ridiculously positive and vibrant asset.

Opening the box that was shipped from China, at Epcot – a little earlier in the plan than hoped, but we graciously complied at the Epcot bag check table.
Thought maybe we could take this white box in unopened.
Nope. (This was ok too.)
Anticipated worst case scenario, that’s why Chapin was ready with his camera to document the opening.
Future World.
Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Don boxed it back up and i got in the pic for an “i was here” photo.
Every Guest received a complimentary button. But only yesterday, October 1, 2017.
The future has arrived. No?
You’re doing it wrong, Jeff.
Ok.
To which i think to myself, “But at least i’m doing it.”
Why does that matter?
For many, it doesn’t matter.
And then i remind myself i thought that way too.
Then a series of changes happened and i began a long, slow journey in thinking differently.
The aha moment?
Once i’m doing it, i have a chance to do it better.
Life.
It ain’t a dress rehearsal.
Waiting for perfect means not starting.
Not starting, for me, was riddled with excuses.
Using June 8, 2019 as a deadline for life.
Taking an unopened box to Epcot to open it.
Yeah the stuff i have no role model for.
Live like you mean it.
Or not.
Our choice.

These giant wall art pieces used to hang in every Guest room (1052 total) at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This one hangs in our garage. Bought it for $5.00, 30 years ago. Wow, time flies.
Our days fly by.
The seed of this speed is how we think about our mornings.
The fruit of this speed is how we spend our mornings.
Our seed’s DNA carries high intentionality or low intentionality.
And how we spend our mornings is driven by how we spend our nights.
For example, going to bed at 9:00 PM, getting eight hours sleep and excited to wake up to the reward of two hours of self-reflection, prayer, meditation, reading, writing, preparing breakfast, etc.
