Post Op Day 28, mind

Awaiting Dr Kumar’s arrival.

Let happy thoughts keep you preoccupied. Your face will thank you.

Four weeks post-op second eye surgery update:

The 8-week gas bubble is nearly 50% absorbed.

In the past four days, i’m starting to see again.

Just a sliver of tree tops and sky (green and blue) on Monday. Called Dr. Kumar’s office and asked his office manager (Maria) to tell him the good news.

Then Tuesday and Wednesday, ever so slightly more visuals.

Yesterday and today (Friday, October 13), nearly half of my field of vision is not blocked by gas.

But yesterday the floaters concerned me. Called Dr Kumar’s office to request an exam two weeks earlier than scheduled to ensure the floaters are ‘normal’.

Radical optimism

Climbing Bishops Cap (pictured here) was a dream come true.

Radical optimism is for the bold, the restless, the dreamers.

Please don’t let life bury you.

Life, the Universe, nature, the wild, everything, it all wants to bury you. Never cave. Triumph!

Car or phone?

iPhone message
Today is the day. Way earlier than expected, compared to original delivery estimate of October 17-24.

Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.

Happy present moment.

Spending today waiting for the iPhone 15 Pro Max to arrive (by 7pm).

Been outside all day since 7:00 AM, going on nine hours so far.

Note about this post’s title “Car or phone?”: i indulge myself with an annual ‘newest iPhone’ purchase. Have never owned a new car. Seems like a fair trade off.

Optimism is the way

Mountains
Photo credit: Steve and Stacy Wahlberg, taken yesterday October 8, and texted to me and Cheryl.

Remember when you are afraid, i know this feeling well. Yet i went from only driving Sun Road to climbing Bishops Cap.

dad

Son, you are the only reason i started hiking in Glacier. i never even did Hidden Lake Trail.

Why?

Because driving and pulling over at the overlooks was amazing enough for me.

Then, the only way i/we could get you to agree to a third visit was to park the car and hit the trail. Had no idea what that meant.

Remember, mom and i only visited once a decade.
