Pick junk or trust

On the work commute yesterday i stopped, exited the car and snapped this photo to capture Rising Sun’s entrance.
My office yesterday from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Worked straight through the day.
The commute home. Pulled over and hung the camera out the window. Heading West and nearing Rising Sun.
Wild Goose Island (less than a mile away from my room) last night on the way up to Logan Pass.
Zooming in. Adventure awaits.

Pick junk or trust.

What?

Your thoughts.

Son, picking the best thoughts available is how you scale a positive attitude.

Feed your mind the same way you feed your body- smartly, intentionally, always focused and expecing great results.

Son, yesterday i spent 11 hours working inside on a gloriously warm day.

Felt privileged to have that massive work opportunity with decent Wi-Fi.

After work, had one of the most incredible three hour time blocks in Glacier. Ever.

Old as the sea, new as the morning

Not quite sunrise. Not quite 6:00 AM.
Sunrise. Yesterday.
Sunrise on Mt. Reynolds (L) and even on Clements Mountain (R) if you look closely.
Clements Mountain sunrise closeup.
Plenty of parking at 6:20 AM.
Context for place and time.
.think .differently

Old as the sea, new as the morning.

Yesterday was the first day in 27 this Summer that i‘ve been alone in Glacier National Park.

Solitude is an excellent way to .think .differently

Son, never feel like your thinking is done. Think “new as the morning”.

Conversely, never waver from your truth (aka your values). Think “old as the sea”.

Never let it happen

Yesterday at 6AM.
Last night at 9PM.

Up at 3:30 AM this morning which is 5:30 AM Orlando time. Soooo…why go back to sleep? So i didn’t go back to sleep. How could anyone go back to sleep in a place like Glacier?

Out the door at 5:50 AM for pre-sunrise at Wild Goose Island (photos above from yesterday at sunrise and sunset), then up to Logan Pass for sunrise.

So today’s posts are being written in the car at Logan Pass.

Yesterday was a great day.

Every day is a great day.

By the way, like you and everyone else, we’re all going through a hell no one knows about.

Never let what you can’t do keep you from what you can do.

The early bird gets the worm

Big Horn Sheep
Such a treat for early Logan Pass arrivals.
Big Horn Sheep
It was over in a matter of minutes.

Habits and rituals define our life.

Good, bad, or indifferent.

Doesn’t matter.

We are a product of our choices.

Arriving early at a popular destination during the busiest time of the year is common sense.

You see things others never will.

You don’t have to worry about all the things poor planning attracts.

You do have to go to bed early if you want to arrive early at somewhere spectacular.

Roots and wings

Driving through East Glacier yesterday this is easy to miss. Had to stop the second i spotted it.

Give your child(ren) roots and wings.

Deep roots for:

Mind, body, spirit, work, and home.

Deep roots for:

Honesty, behaving admirably, personal responsibility, self-control, initiative, fun, and contribution.
