Ever heard of writer’s flood? Nope.

Writer’s block? Of course.

Turns out, writer’s flood is a real thing.

How does one know?

You start off on a writing journey and never take a day off.

Ever.

And it never feels like a burden.

T-minus 6

bullseye
The original 100-day writing target was simply a motivational way to get some writing practice to write a first book.

T-minus 6 days.

Less than a week away.

What?

In six days, year 14 starts.

Year 14 for what?

Year 14 for consecutive years writing 5 daily, differently-themed blog posts.

Not only never missing a year, but never missing a single day. Not one.

Ever.

Think

Small bird and hawk confrontation
Who is the Mockingbird to think it can influence a Hawk (that wants to eat the Mockingbird’s eggs or young)?

i’m struck by the reality that in writing 24,000+ blog posts over 13 years, the content is never copied and pasted. It’s always different yet always the same.

When i say find a million ways to stay motivated, this is a reminder that repetition of your best thoughts, movement, feelings, contributions, and organized dwelling habits is what creates vibrancy.

How did this happen

Disney Institute Customer Service Speaker keynotes
Started blogging in 2008, in the midst of The Great Recession.

Blog update October 2021

Have written over 24,000 blog posts.

You know how this happened?

A 1979 dream to write a book to my children.

We had our first and only child 20-something years later.

Began writing blog posts in 2008 to get some writing practice. Then one seemingly insignificant day at a time in 2009 magic happened.

Closing in on starting year 14 of writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts.
