Balance is not a myth is an attitude worth pursuing

note: i did not write what’s in this photo…

Balance
From LinkedIn i believe. That headline. Messages like this serve no one. However, people who rely on excuses take solace in this false proposition.

Balance is not a myth.

The key mindset (our attitude) is coming to the realization that balance isn’t about a perceived equality between time spent at work and time spent at home.

Balance is about energy.

Energy invested and time spent are two completely different metrics.

The attitude art must be done

quotes
Second from bottom. Steve Jobs…

Attitude.

Can it be art?

Or maybe.

Can it be art without trying for it to be art?

Ask Steve Jobs.

Ask yourself.

Stay hungry.

Stay foolish.

You artist, you.

i can’t mentally do it for you

Father and Son at Epcot
Yesterday at lunchtime.

i can’t mentally do it for you.

Someday, and i hope it doesn’t take you the 40 years it took me to figure it out, you’ll want to sell yourself on the fact that you are the CEO of You, Inc.

When you stop looking for others to change your circumstances and admit it’s your sole responsibility, your transformation will take place in a way you could have never believed possible.

Have fun with it.

Enjoy it.

Soar.

But this doesn’t apply to our attitude

We have to care, and we have to be determined to have a positive attitude 100% of the time. Photo: Office doors while on a recent biz trip.

Celine Dion is a 2017 guest coach on the Voice and here’s a snippet of singing wisdom she shared with two contestants.

“My husband is always with me,” Dion told them of her husband of 22 years and talent manager for over three decades, who died in January 2016 after a battle with cancer. “He said, ‘You cannot be good all the time. You have to be good when it’s time.’

Makes sense, i guess, if you’re a famous entertainer.

Doesn’t make sense, to me, if you are the CEO of You, Inc.

Your attitude (and my attitude) should always be great.

Even as ordinary citizens, it’s the one thing you and i have control over.
