Why attend High School reunions?

Singing Cashier with Disney Speaker
Singing Cashier, Antonio (with Stephanie and Julonia?) at Orlando International Airport.

The City Beautiful, yesterday, October 26, 2017.
A noon flight to Philly gave us this view of Orlando as we made our ascent to 35k’ feet.

Love the logo design…stuck in traffic…photo opp. Their slogan: Opening doors to opportunities.

Ordering iPhone X opening day
Ordered iPhone X the minute it went on sale – 3:01AM ET.

Big day yesterday.

No rush out the door though.

Flight not until noon.

Almost to our gate, we witness a cashier doing an over-the-top Guest interaction.

Told Cheryl, “Guarantee you he’s on You Tube.”

Got a nice rental car upgrade in Philly.

Nice dinner – maybe the best lobster ever.

Set alarm for 2:55am to cue up the iPhone X purchase the minute it went on sale at 3:01AM Orlando time (12:01AM Cupertino time).

The reason for the trip is to attend my 40th High School reunion.

Potentially my last chance.

Why not take it?

Made the decision to turn off the beaten path

Yesterday about 6:30am.

Just the two of us until about 7am. Rick is a golfer.

And then there were three. Dave, right, is a hiker.

Nature saves the best for what a camera can’t capture…all our senses.

Only three guys (of 13) didn’t go golfing yesterday (second consecutive golf day): me, Dave, and Carl.

We are seen as, “They don’t like to golf”.

Everyone is cool with it, although the golfers wish every brother golfed.

And the three of us were wishing the golfers were hikers and explorers.

Do we take the glorious opportunities to illuminate?

Reunion breakfast being prepared

(photo: Ree is huge part of the glue that holds the reunion opportunity together)

The diversity of everything is such a blessing to appreciate. And being able to appreciate this diversity is a huge part of what drives our attitude, negatively or positively.

Some rise early. Some later.

Some take initiative. Some don’t. Some will help if asked.

It’s not a competition.

But do we take the small, glorious opportunities to illuminate as much positive light as we can?

Blue Ridge Mountains and early morning clouds

(photo above: Illuminating is often associated with Sunlight. But we can learn that light doesn’t always shine brightly or directly. We can learn to shine anyway.)

All day. Everyday.
