Early Summer Trip day 2, mind

Daisies
Daisies. Location unknown.

Will today be remarkable and fun?

Bottomline, the answer is my responsibility.

It’s a remarkable responsibility to have and to deliver on.

Ps. If i had a daisy for every time i’ve thought about Cheryl, i could walk through a field of daisies forever.

Early Summer Trip day 1, mind

Allentown Dieruff High School
Allentown Dieruff High School tour prior to 2016’s 40th reunion.

What will it be like to attend Cheryl’s 50th High School reunion?

Okay.

Today’s the day.

Technically the second (and final) day this week our airline of choice flies to Allentown.

Giddy-up.

Cheryl’s 40th HS reunion, a decade ago.

Happy present moment.

Been packed for weeks.

Tomorrow is a trip down memory lane.

Cheryl’s memory lane.

In Disney’s mind

Disney leaders at a January 2025 reunion
Leaders that helped open (1988) Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. L-R: Laura, Kathy, Rick, John, Barry, me, Sonya, Spencer, Jean, Craig, and Tracy. Photo: January 7, 2025.

In Walt Disney’s mind, nothing was impossible.

Walt famously said, “It’s kinda fun to do the impossible.”

Today’s posts are photos of a small band of Resort Operations Leaders from the 1970’s through today (Jan 2025). We gathered two days ago to keep the bond, the memories, and the laughs alive.

Walt’s attitude is what made Disney a world-famous Customer Service organization.

Everyone in today’s pictures helped protect, maintain, and improve Walt Disney’s legacy for excellence.

Note: Thanks to Rick Allen, the event organizer, for capturing and sharing today’s photos. Believe it or not, i didn’t take a single photo. Intentionally.

Why attend High School reunions?

Singing Cashier with Disney Speaker
Singing Cashier, Antonio (with Stephanie and Julonia?) at Orlando International Airport.

The City Beautiful, yesterday, October 26, 2017.
A noon flight to Philly gave us this view of Orlando as we made our ascent to 35k’ feet.

Philadelphia Housing Authority truck
Love the logo design…stuck in traffic…photo opp. Their slogan: Opening doors to opportunities.

Ordering iPhone X opening day
Ordered iPhone X the minute it went on sale – 3:01AM ET.

Big day yesterday.

No rush out the door though.

Flight not until noon.

Almost to our gate, we witness a cashier doing an over-the-top Guest interaction.

Told Cheryl, “Guarantee you he’s on You Tube.”

Got a nice rental car upgrade in Philly.

Nice dinner – maybe the best lobster ever.

Set alarm for 2:55am to cue up the iPhone X purchase the minute it went on sale at 3:01AM Orlando time (12:01AM Cupertino time).

The reason for the trip is to attend my 40th High School reunion.

Potentially my last chance.

Why not take it?
