There’s only one way to find out

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
Walt Disney said, “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”

There’s only one way to find out if something is impossible.

Try to do what others say can’t be done.

Try to do something no one else has thought of.

Are you indispensable?

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
The right question is worth exponentially more than the right answer to the wrong question.

Are you indispensable?

How do you know?

What metrics are you using?

What questions are you asking?

The right questions, the best questions, are scary because their answers require a significantly more accurate answer.

And even scarier, there may not be a single definitive answer.

Take for example, “What’s the meaning of life”

While there are many great, and personally accurate, answers, the real insight is this – does the respondent believe in their answer as if their life depends on it?

Unless it’s worth defending…

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
The bead jar, pictured here, is now empty. Every weekend for 18 years, i’ve removed one bead – what began filled with 936 beads is now empty.

Unless it’s worth defending, it will never get the time, attention, energy, and effort it deserves.

Your attitude.

Your health.

Your spirit.

Your work.

Your home.

No one cares more about your life than you.

Decide what’s worth defending and set out to defend it.

Until death do us part.

Are happiness and joyful the same thing?

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
Happiness is probably the wrong choice of word. Joy is a better word.

Are happiness and joyful the same thing?

i think they are literally indistinguishable.

However, happiness gets so much criticism.

There’s less resistance and more margin using joy instead of happy.

Both emanate from gratitude.

Be intentional about counting your blessings.

Every day.

All day.

It is there you will find both happiness and joy.
