i hope you embrace intentionality and work on cultivating your attitude by learning to focus on what others say and do, and then evaluating what’s good and decent from those observations, and what’s not.
Then my hope is you slowly and steadily apply what you learn.

i used to feel guilty because i rarely called you.
Then i realized you call me even less.
i used to feel guilty because i wasn’t doing my part.
Then i realized i have no idea what my part is.
i used to get stressed wondering what we’d talk about.
Then i realized that most of what i heard was pessimistic, depressing, or dysfunctional.

With only 52 beads left in the 17-year old bead jar, my awareness is heightened.
Your option to choose to leave the nest at 18 will be legal.
