Hurricane Milton news brief
Hurricane Milton news brief
Notice the sustained wind of 175mph on the bottom-middle.

Waking up in your own bed (probably) means nothing if you haven’t traveled extensively.

Traveling extensively is neither good nor bad. It is what it is.

But this morning, it’s heavenly in the moment.

It’s a bit hellish though, in the reality.

All daylight hours today are scheduled for hurricane prep.

Had we not been in Glacier the past five weeks, we’d already be ready.

But arriving at midnight (six hours ago) puts us insanely behind schedule.

Thank God i have a 12-year relationship with Kasey. Kasey is a leader and a servant.
24-second video: Somehow i overlooked this video from yesterday. Enjoy and reflect on the ‘real-time karma’ that cannot be staged nor scripted.

Writing this as we are only 33 minutes from touchdown in our hometown.

It’s overwhelming how many important decisions and surrenders and hopes i’ve (we’ve) experienced in the past 24 hours.

Emergency return home, mind

Hurricane Milton forecasted path
Awoke at 3:30AM today, unrelated to the brewing Tropical Depression. Upper left photo shows my iPhone’s time (3:59). Then look at the small yellow ‘x’ on the path’s left — 4:00 AM update. Note: We are in Mountain Time so 3:59 is really 5:59AM Eastern Time.

What happens when you plan for three extraordinary days in the highly-recommended Banff area and you are suddenly faced with a simple (potentially emergency) decision: Should we stay or should we leave immediately?

In a few hours between bedtime and an early rise, the “Tropical Depression” exploded into a hurricane with a Category 3 Major Hurricane prediction.

Context for today’s all-day drive to Banff.

For a decade, people have asked us, “Have you been to Banff?”

Until today, our answer has alway been, “No.”
