Glacier 2024 thoughts, mind

Campfire
Not a Glacier campfire, a Walt Disney World campfire.

This Summer (2024) was different for several key reasons. Today’s posts will unpack the most relevantly different reasons.

Let’s kick things off with these:

  • There was the incompleteness from cutting 2023 short by two months due to two retina repair surgeries.
  • Went into 2024 far less physically ready. Also due to eye surgeries.

What’s the update?

i haven’t written about it for awhile and was just wondering why?

Now that you spent the Summer in Glacier, made it back before Milton struck, and have cleaned up after Milton, now what?

Clean up like you mean it, mind

Gaping Void art
Everything is so much easier when your priorities are your guiding light.
Pollock Mountain summit with Steve and Stacy, 2023. The winds were ”nuking” as Steve added in the text in this video — he’s saying what is there but isn’t obvious — if you weren’t there, you’d have no idea how strong the winds are. i’m probably 50+ pounds heavier than Stacy and perhaps a little too confident in my wind-gust preparedness.

We have so much yard debris from Hurricane Milton.

We have begun cleaning like we mean it.

Grateful there’s no structure damage.

Grateful we have time and ability to do it ourselves.

Rest like you mean it, mind

Apple Watch
Apple ‘Tips’ reveal remarkable and easy ways to enhance your effectiveness and efficiency.

Rest is underrated.

Your rest is never contagious to others.

Rest seems selfish to busy, tired people. But you know better.

Rest — like any common-sense tactic — is something busy, tired people have no time for. Aren’t you glad you slayed that beast?

By the way, i remember you starting to slay that beast in 1999, shortly after your promotion from Disney Resort Operations to Disney Institute.
