GNP Day 54, mentally

Hurricane Ian path
First thing i check….Ian forecasted further South, with Orlando in its bullseye. Yesterday the window to fly home closed.
Go daddy technical update screenshot
Second thing i check. Not a dupe photo. New photo from today. Sumpden ain’t right.
iPhone phone call Screen Shot
Called from car as we departed cabin for Logan Pass. Kathy from GoDaddy knows i need a migration-progress update. She knows the call will drop. She knows i expect a voice message update if the call fails.
Four people at trail head
We surrender to Ian’s path. Here before sunrise. Eleventh car in the parking lot. Yee-haw!
16-second video: This is as lucky as it gets, as good as it gets, and as safe as it gets – for being on a trail.
5-second video: We watched for 30+ minutes, until this happened.

First world challenges:

  1. Approaching hurricane Ian. Projected to be category 4 or 5 at landfall.
  2. Major technical issue with server disk space. Disadvantaged with only an iPhone to self-diagnose and fix.
  3. Managing four people’s hiking hopes, abilities, and expectations.

Presence grounds me. Deep breaths. Deep thoughts. Deep prespective.

So remarkably blessed to see the big picture beside the noisy, chaotic real-life street show.

GNP Day 53, mentally

6-second video: It’s gonna be another great day.
24-second video: A seven-mile morning hike up (and back down) the hill. Narrative about yesterday’s Reynolds Catwalk.

Last night i renewed the Hosting account and simultaneously upgraded for double the Server Disk space. Expected the migration from one IP address to another to be done this morning. Called to get status update.

Called the hosting company. Logan assured me the migration is in progress. Will check on it tonight upon return from Grinnell Lake seven-miler.

GNP Day 52, mentally

Mountains and lake
On the way to Logan Pass and Reynolds Catwalk.

At the parking lot by 7:10 AM. Maybe the 30th car. Parked at the far end, like always when given a choice. It’s 45 degrees and the impending sunrise should warm it up nicely.

Only a handful of people on Hidden Lake Overlook trail. Our plan is to visit the overlook and double back to the Reynolds climbing trail. The goal is to get Chuck some mileage and see some views.

Mountains
7:30 AM from the porch deck.
Mountains
Also from porch deck. Not too bad.

Mentally, we reap what we sow.

Note: Today’s five posts are some of life’s simplest and most profound wisdom. In a perfect world, this should stop you in your tracks. This wisdom should, technically, cause you to turn your life around – to immediately compel you to over-focus on the same things you used to under-focus on or ignore.

GNP Day 50, mentally

Large window covered in raindrops
Spent the entire day with this view.

A howling, cold wind.

Rain.

Fever.

The only one with Covid.

Today may be a repeat.
