Late start at 2:00 PM. On purpose for parking and warmth. At 3:40 PM, it’s late to be only this far on the trail. My goal, however, is only to do a little reconnaissance for the Mt Siyeh summit route. Only a few hundred meters ahead is the unmarked climber’s trailhead for Mt Siyeh summit. Not looking to climb it, just to become familiar with the side trail. Three Grizzlies were spotted and all three were said to be in the area i wanted to go. Spooked, i headed back down the trail until i met a rare couple hiking to Siyeh Pass. Tom and Julia are from Italy and didn’t mind if i hiked with them. i didn’t take the climber’s trail to the left. Too scared.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
