Live and learn, mind

disney speaker Jeff Noel
Over-focus on the same things you used to under-focus on or ignore. Learning this insight rebooted my entire growth mindset.

Live and learn.

As simple as it gets.

What living and learning does is gets you ahead in a better way than you used to live.

The challenge is simply this – it leads you to new territory without a map.

Grow, learn, improve, repeat.

Feels like “suffer some growing pains joys” between improving and back again to growing.

Let’s make “SYDK” a category, mind

mountain road tunnel tinged in snow
September 28, 2018. Near Logan Pass. East side tunnel is visible on this photo’s right side. Son, you don’t know this view of east Tunnel tinged with frozen pines is one of my favorite Glacier memories. Djuan was visiting for his birthday.

Blog categories act kinda like book chapter titles.

They help me file together ‘themed’ thoughts. And the thoughts become blog posts.

Sometimes it’s a bullseye fit. Sometimes it’s a loose fit.

In prolific daily blogging, i scan the blog categories and label the post based on what seems a best fit, not necessarily a bullseye fit.

Noteworthy is that each of the five daily blogs have some similar categories, but most are different. So this step is repeated five times daily.

Initially, yesterday’s blog titles were labeled and themed “Shit You Don’t Know” (SYDK).

Today in blog-writing prep, i thought i’d make “Shit you didn’t know” a brand new category.

It took only minutes until i realized the blog category already exists…

It’s called, “Dear Son”.

Dear Son,

Shit you didn’t know…

How could you?

You were just a kid.

What you didn’t know is…

How being your dad inspired and guided everything i did (and why i did it) at Disney Institute.

Sell me on how, mind

Dreams require risks. Risks require failure. Failure enables growth. Growth enables dreams.
Disney Keynote Speaker jeff noel
At least a million…enough to last a lifetime of distractions, naysayers, temptation, pain, hurt, regret, failure, etc.
Our Current System Fails Society
Our historical, and current, work/life balance belief system fails society. The system pictured here is the new, replacement architectural blueprint for personal vibrancy (aka ‘balance’).

Sell me on how you think i can help you.

Especially after a decade of already trying to help you.

Am i the failure or is it you?

Or is this a collaborative failure?

Bold questions, eh?

That’s what attracted you to me from the beginning.

Remember when i asked, “Are you drunk?

Thought you’d be so much further ahead than you are now.

A decade!

Why isn’t your culture the envy of not only your industry, but of any business anywhere?

Splain that to me. Please.

Note to self: Happy present moment.

Get busy living, mind

Mid Life Celebration the book

Wanted to leave a trail for our young son in case something bad ever happened to me.

Dylan (Bob) said, “He who is not busy being born, is busy dying.”

Spring Break is a time for celebration and relaxation.

i think it’s also a time for bathing suits.

And if that’s too constricting, skinning dipping.

.think .differently

Have fun.

Lean into discomfort.
