A growth mindset allows me to create my own dogma, traditions, beliefs, and habits.

When you discern what you/we currently believe, it is countless iterations of what various people have believed, questioned, and reframed, over the centuries.

A growth mindset puts you in charge of your own life.

It’s worth noting that everyone is always in charge of their own life.

An insightful observation reveals a primal and tribal human predisposition to follow the herd.

No harm, no foul.

Yet, i believe it is what has kept humanity alive.

That, and the outliers who believe there is, perhaps, a better way to do a particular thing.

A dozen or more years ago i had a frightening experience with Canada Airport Customs. While at Disney Institute, i traveled to Canada to work with Chevrolet. Even though the trip was legit and all future trips had the proper paperwork, that first trip had me feeling like a criminal with ill-intent.

Remember, the long way is the shortcut, so don’t expect it to be easy.

But bank on it being one of the best things you ever do in life.

Insight: If you really had to decide, it might be the single best thing you can do in your life.

People judge you with the same ease you can judge others.

We often forget that others have the same ‘secret insight radar’ that we possess.

What makes us forget is that they never let on to their judgements, just like we never do. Just as we would like others to have no clue. We are also handled with the same ‘poker-face’.

Do i expect others to change?

Not anymore. In a previous, younger, less wiser lifetime, yes.

Now, and for at least a decade, no. Never.

No place like home.

Sage wisdom/Dorothy from Wizard of Oz fame

We had a couple stunning May (2024) weather days in Glacier.

But as soon as we got home and left Orlando’s airport yesterday it immediately felt like home.

Palm trees. Sunshine. Heat.

Year-round.

No place like it.

Not even GNP.

But when GNP’s high-country, backcountry trails are open, it competes with Walt Disney World.

Seriously.

Note: Math easily favors Walt Disney World’s goodness over Glacier’s goodness. When you compare three months of goodness versus 12 months of goodness, well, you do the math.

Second note: Today’s theme is ‘Pre’. The Prefontaine Classic is happening in a couple weeks on Hayward Field, (Track Town, USA) at Eugene’s University of Oregon.
