What and how often

Picture of Steve Irwin
Saddle up. We’re going to the Australia Zoo (again).

What do you do for fun? How often? Why?

dad

Let’s run through that sequence again.

What do you do for fun?

How often?

Why?

Satisfied with your answers?

Incompetent competent

11-second video: “Squirrel!” Waking up to second Pacific Ocean sunrise. This Glacier video is a random what the heck entry. Happy present moment.

We all know what is self-evident, yet we live like we are completely unaware.

dad

An incompetent competent knows what to do but stinks at doing it.

Pacific Ocean sunrise

15-second video: First morning from our balcony at 600am.
Ocean sunrise
About 30 minutes away from opening.
Ocean sunrise
Opening act.
Ocean sunrise
Zooming in for fun.
Couple a building balcony
Zooming out and looking away from Sun.

Have a good reason for sleeping through a sunrise. Otherwise, don’t.

dad

Most humans in their day-to-day see very few sunrises.

Have never met anyone who has regretted seeing too many sunrises.

It’s a very special, yet brief, daily occurrence.

Be greedy.

We made it to Brizzy

14-second video: Welcome to America! Wait, what?
Google map
A 75-minute drive from the airport to our two-bedroom Pacific Ocean view apartment.

Australia reminds me of a 51st United State.

dad

Australia reminds me of America.

Specifically the Sunshine Coast portion of Queensland.

And while currently Central Florida is almost daily toying with record breaking high temperatures, Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hovers now at 70 daytime and 50 nighttime.

Lovely.

Orlando to San Fran

Flight departure board
Top line: MCO-SFO, evening departure. These are rare for us.
17-second video: Hottest plane i’ve ever been on. AC isn’t effective. At all. Thank goodness i’m in a short sleeve T-shirt

Adventure is what you make it.

dad

Our current two-week trip morphed to a three week trip recently.

In January Australia’s Sunshine Coast reminded me of Orlando and Cocoa Beach. It was Winter for us but Summer for Australia.

Now it’s our Summer and their Winter.

Perhaps we will feel like ‘Snowbirds’.

Perhaps it will be too short.

Perhaps it will be too long.

Perhaps it will be perfect.
