Going to Glacier, mentally

Mountains
Extraordinarily inconvenient to get here from Walt Disney World.

Today’s posts are about how inconvenient it is to travel to, and to enjoy, Glacier National Park.

It’s the same inconvenience most people see when i talk about getting and staying physically vibrant.

Too inconvenient in a distracted, entertained, medicated life.

Same with a visit to Glacier.

The time, money, and effort to plan, travel, stay, and return is too much.

Too inconvenient.

This is a Glacier lover’s advantage.

A visit to our hometown is more convenient…

Altitude fever

Mountains
Continental Divide. Father and Son June GTTSR bike trip.

Theoretically this could be my/our fifth day in Glacier this Summer.

But theory and reality often fail to meet.

Attitude and Altitude look similar

Tee shirt from National Park
GNP t-shirt shop. Year unknown.

The shirt above tricks me every time into seeing attitude.

But it doesn’t say attitude.

It says something definition-wise isn’t even close.

Isn’t it fascinating how a simple change, one “t” to an “l” and you have, for example, the Continental Divide.

The wild is pretty good

The wild means nothing to those who don’t visit. To those who visit, the wild is sacred.

We see what we want to see

50-second video: Early October, 2021. No one else on this mountain. Deep in the wilderness. Alone. Heading home in 12 hours. Note: does this 2021 video count as vlogging? Yes.

We see only what we want to see. We filter everything based on the filters that serve our desires and comforts. ‘Tis human nature.
