Day 1 West Glacier, mind

Key points: Arrival time and location.
Five hikers heading to the Reynolds saddle, and who knows where from there. Serious windchill on top of the 46-degree morning.

Turns out the drive to Logan Pass is shorter than i calculated.

Decided to do Oberlin yesterday.

In hindsight, it was a brilliant choice.

Day 7 East Glacier, mind

Customer work on the side of the SUV
Amen.

This vehicle was parked close to mine when i went out to get a vest because the weather got windier and cooler yesterday.

In all my years, i’ve never heard it framed up this way.

The journey is the destination.

Day 6 East Glacier, mind

16-second video: Sinopah Mountain from South Shore trail.
Late start, 8:45am.

Today is a ‘rest day’.

Over-focusing on rest.

Why, after only two hiking days?

The normal season opener hike is 4 miles round-trip and only 1600’ elevation gain and loss.

To avoid 3+ hours of round-trip drive time to get to Oberlin, i stayed local and had a 30-minute round-trip drive time. However, opening day hike was 8 miles and 2500’ elevation gain and descent.

Red flower
Until recently (maybe 2022), it was called Indian Paintbrush. Now it’s just Paintbrush.

Yesterday’s Scenic Point hike. Today’s hike is Upper Two Medicine Lake hike.

Yesterday, even though starting the day with a sleep deficit, i knew it was a fail-safe hike choice.

Why?

Have done it at least three times before. Once solo. Once with Chapin. Once with Cheryl.

Overturned car on highway
First day last year. Driving Highway 2 to East Glacier on the way to SwiftCurrent Valley.

.think .differently

Emotion trumps everything.

Reminds me i’m not offering (selling?) world-class customer service architecture. Even though it seems so.

What then?

Reminds me i’m offering (selling?) world-class hope architecture. Even though it doesn’t seem so.
