South Pacific beach sand dune will have to suffice for this morning’s office.

We are constantly solving for small, medium, and large challenges. Challenges we see coming, and challenges we never see coming.

Australia Day 6, mind

Dawn from a condo balcony
We awaken at 5:00 AM and see this. About 15 minutes later, this…
Sunrise
Never gets old.
Colorful toy store Building
Toys never get old either. This place reminds us of Al’s Toy Barn in Toy Story.

We are getting into a groove, slowly but surely.

Grateful we have three weeks in Australia.

We’d likely stay longer if it wasn’t for an upcoming Orlando keynote.

Most people say they have integrity. Most also say few others do.

Australia Day 4, mind

Couple at beach
Yesterday’s morning walk to the South Pacific Ocean. Cheryl’s first visit. Mine was previous night.
This morning’s “sunrise” at 5:15 AM. Sitting on the balcony in the morning quiet, we could hear the constant low roar of the South Pacific waves crashing on the beach 1.5 miles due East.

Waking up is a miraculous gift. For one day it won’t happen.

The above quote is not a morbid declaration. It is a glorious reminder that the aspects of life’s most important things are invisible due to their simplicity and familiarity.

Nothing invisible from our Australian apartment balcony. Ever.

Australia Day 3, mind

River from balcony
Good morning (5:03 AM) from Australia.
River from balcony
Still 5:03 AM…10 minutes away from sunrise.
apple compass
Pointing the compass straight out from our balcony is due East. The longest day of Australia’s year was exactly a month ago.Summer solstice the sun is due East. The sunrise this morning should be slightly to the right or left.
sun rise
Tah-dah! (5:14 AM)

Hot and humid even at sunrise. Exactly like Florida’s Summers.
7-second video: Pre-sunrise, 5:04 AM.

There are exceptions to nearly every rule.

dad

Our first Pacific Ocean sunrise was stealthily disguised.

Disguised as an ordinary sunrise.

But.

But until yesterday, we’ve only seen Pacific Ocean sunsets, never sunrises.

In the sun’s quick-to-disappear disguise, i smiled at the unique (and kinda glorious) juxtaposition.
