Took our time going up, 2,400’ elevation gain.

Deep and broad thinking is admirable. Decide for yourself what suits you.

Hike up to Granite, mind

Park trailhead sign
6:54 AM start.
Park trailhead sign
Heading toward Dawson Pass. It’s 2,900 elevation gain over three miles. Ain’t feeling it today. Time will tell.
Couple in the mountains
Only ones on the trail. Deep in. Seriously deep.

Every once in awhile, grant yourself permission to experiment with coasting.

As fate sometimes does with planning, today’s titles, “Hiking up to Granite”, are an error.

Today is the drive from Glacier Park Lodge to a quick overnight stay at Rising Sun Motor Inn.

Tomorrow we hike up to Granite Park Chalet. Rising Sun’s location is a pivot from Swiftcurrent Motor Inn.

Amazing can happen at any time. Amazing often, and most probably, happens when you least expect it. Pretty cool if you ask me.

GPL day 3, mind

Looking out a window
Our first morning’s look outside, from our humble little main lodge building room.

Learn the subtle art of slowing down to speed up.

dad

Used to wear my busy-ness as a badge of honor.

Why?

Because it’s the Disney corporate way.

You slow down and you get left behind.

Same everywhere, really.

But when you start your own business at 50, you know a lot, and, you are in charge.

Contextual point: you’re in charge, but with a 95% chance of not succeeding. So being in charge is hard, challenging, and not a blank check to do as you please (and thrive).

That said, you can do what you want, when you want.

And if you pay attention to slowing down, you can .think .differently to probable success.
