Secret benefit when expressing gratitude

Didn’t ask for any of these trophies. Totally grateful for them though. Still.

Can expressing something be the same as having received it?

Yes, when expressing gratitude.

Expressing gratitude is the same, in my experience, as acknowledging receipt of something.

Many, myself included, subscribe to this…

Ask and you shall receive.

What about no asking, simply expressing…

Express gratitude and you shall receive.

This is such a wonderful gift from the Universe.

Great habits pay and we pay for poor habits

spider and spider web
The web we weave becomes an asset or a trap.

Great habits pay dividends.

Poor habits are expensive and often feel irreversible.

Try and change a life that’s been shaped by negative thinking, blame, and bad karma.

Try to defeat a life that’s been filled with determination, good karma, and positive thinking.

After two years, i’m better suited for the ups and downs

International speaking cities
Yesterday’s client call to South America. Two airports for two possible engagements in one trip. The names are two airports i’d potentially be flying to.

After two years, i’m better suited for the ups and downs.

The peaks and valleys of starting a business can drive you crazy.

Wondering where the next paycheck is coming from.

And conversely, wondering what you did in your life to deserve so much reward.

It runs as extreme as love and hate, day and night, hot and cold.

Yesterday’s call to Columbia has me hopeful, but not placing any stock in the outcome.

The website’s “first draft” is tonight

Colorado Attorney tagline
Denver airport Legal Firm advertising, a few days ago. i’m confident my team has done something wonderful. i asked for: simple, corporate, different.

The website’s “first draft” is tonight.

There’s no text book or business best seller that prepares you for the reality of building something you believe the world will welcome with open arms.

Feeling like a six-year old on Christmas eve.

And yet wondering if Santa will be able to come through with what was on the list.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Five days away from the five-a-day milestone

Moo Business cards featuring GapingVoid

(photo: After six years, still don’t have a business card. Ordered some yesterday.)

Five days away from the five-a-day milestone. The key insight is this:

Our path never plays out the way we dream. It’s either better or worse. Our job is keep moving forward.

We can never make progress if we stop.

Duh.

Sounds so logical.

Yet why do we quit so soon after we begin these ambitious journeys?

And what happens to the folks who refuse to quit?
