Under New Management

quote
What’s the first thing you do after reading this?

Under New Management.

When we see this sign on a business we immediately think, “Ok, maybe we should have another look because someone better than the previous management has finally arrived to run the place the way it should be run.”

In reality, this is us everyday, if we continuously learn and improve.

The road to excellence has no finish line.

Radical self-care

Mickey Mouse always looks like ’Day One’. Nice photo bomb too.

Never get bored with the basics.

Like brushing and flossing.

Like saying please and thank you.

Like being present, mindful, and motivated.

Like taking radical care of yourself.

Radical self-care revolves around life’s five big choices:

  1. mind – we think
  2. body – we move
  3. spirit – we feel
  4. work – we contribute
  5. home – we dwell

Over-focus on the same things we used to under-focus on or ignore.

The reason we avoid deadlines is twofold:

1. We think we have forever
2. The deadline is too much pressure for something we don’t need right now

Long-term procrastination makes us a spectator in our own life.

Planning to watch my final Olympic Games this Summer

Planning to watch my final Olympic Games this Summer. (More on that as i approach my 57th birthday in 24 days)

Last week on the flights to and from Pennsylvania for client meetings, i read 11 chapters of “Finding The Next Steve Jobs”.

It’s a compelling and inspiring read from “the man who founded Atari and launched Steve Job’s career”.

Both author Nolan Bushnell and Steve Jobs are bona fide crazies, and creative geniuses.

Each of us has our own crazy.

How well we develop that is up to us.

i’m 210% committed.

Dream like you mean it

Dirty shirt of a shot putter
This dirty shirt may be the start of personal transformation.

Take your dreams seriously.

Seems so obvious.

But alas, we rush through our day, hoping to get back to our dream tomorrow.

We all know what happens with this habitual cycle.
