Reminds me of Steve Jobs’ garage, and Walt Disney’s uncle’s garage

Hire for attitude, not aptitude

Something special is happening in Indiana. Reminds me of Steve Jobs’ garage, and Walt Disney’s uncle’s garage and their used camera in 1923.

Seriously.

All those inspirational sayings that turn us on?

All those stories about the crazy ones, the misfits, the ones who challenged things…

You know the ones.

Ever since eighth grade he wanted to help people lead healthier, more balanced, and joyful lives.

Some advocates have stepped up to help him.

Two of them are in Indiana.

He didn’t ask.

And they didn’t care if he said no thanks. They were prepared to move forward irregardless.

And this Friday, February 28, 2014, in Valparaiso, Indiana – it will be one of those stories told in the future about “the early days” of the Movement.

It’s gettin’ real.

And it may not work, because we aren’t even sure we know what to expect.

But one thing we know for sure.

Those inspirational sayings are no longer sayings, they are our battle cries.

We will launch, learn, revise.

And then launch again.

To the ones crazy enough, and bold enough to go first…

Break a leg Monica and Donna.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Live like you mean it!

PS. Whatever you need. Whenever you need it.

In a weird way, we are the only ones who can give ourselves permission to be authentic

One box of 54 Mid Life Celebration books
54 books, each uniquely signed, in gratitude for their passion.

An Indiana book club has been formed from the positive ripple effects of Mid Life Celebration: rethink • reprioritize • recommit

MLC will be the first book featured… this Friday, Feb 28.

The organizer, Monica, purchased (together with her Mom) 17 copies on Amazon over Valentine’s Day weekend.

So in gratitude, sent a free box of 54 signed copies. Each member will receive three free copies to extend the positive ripple effect.

What they don’t know yet is that each book contains a unique message – no two are the same.

Would have been much easier to just write my name.

Or to write the same message 54 times.

Would have also been easier to just keep dreaming about writing a book.

The long way is the short cut.

We know this.

In a weird way, we are the only ones who can give ourselves permission to be authentic.

Life changes the minute we stop waiting for permission.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Live like you mean it!

Feel free to share (no expectation, only hope).

Survive or thrive. It doesn’t take genius.

Maybe this video will help someone today. And we all could use a helping hand. All of us.

Paradigm Shift: Why write a book for your child?

What if we thought of the book as a giant love letter?

Wishing you peace and blessings immeasurable to you and everyone you love.

And know that one of the best ways to heal ourselves is to help others heal.

Survive or thrive. It doesn’t take genius.

PS. Just had an aha moment – more like a reminder – all the writing (for those of you reading all five) has the same intent. Maybe these posts will help someone today.

What about what’s holding us back from supporting ourselves?

Midlife Celebration Amazon sales page

Sent this as an email from Amazon to a friend who’s been saying for two months she’s going to buy the book.

Dude, this book is gonna make your heart sing and your mind explode. Do yourself a favor (right now). Okay? 🙂

  • What holds our family, friends, colleagues back from jumping in to help us?
  • Is it the same thing holding us back from supporting others who are also working hard?

So really, what holds us back from helping ourselves?

(fear, uncertainty, excuses, time, codependence?)

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

We know this.
